Visit Us
We meet for worship each Sunday morning at 10:30 am in the sanctuary and online. Our service is one hour long, and we invite you to come as you are!
What to ExpectWe strive to be a congregation of warmth and welcome. When you enter the narthex, one of our lovely greeters will be ready to greet you and offer you a bulletin. We invite you to stop by the visitor's station to receive a bag with all sorts of information and goodies. We like to describe our worship as "traditional with a twist," meaning we follow the traditional Reformed liturgy structure but also value creativity and flexibility.
At the beginning of worship, we will pass around the friendship pad. We would love for you to share your contact information so Pastor Sheldon can reach out to you and welcome you. Sunday SchoolSunday School options are available for all ages from 9:30-10:15. There are several options to choose from and you are always welcome to jump in at any time!
Children in WorshipAre you worried that your young children might be a distraction for others during worship? Don't be! A noisy sanctuary is a vibrant sanctuary. Just before the sermon, the children are invited to come forward for a time of Sharing the Good News with the Children. After that, we have Children's Worship available for kids Pre-K to 2nd Grade. Additionally, the nursery is always available for children up to age 3.
While those options are always available, children of all ages are more than welcome to stay for the whole service. Children are a gift in worship, not a distraction! CommunionWe celebrate the sacrament of the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of every month and occasional special services throughout the year, rotating between trays and intinction. We practice an "open table" theology, meaning we do not put any conditions on who Christ calls to the table. If you worship with us on a Communion Sunday, we invite you to participate in the sacrament as you feel comfortable and called.
BaptismBecoming a MemberJoining a congregation is a big step and we always encourage folks to visit several times before making that decision. When you are ready to call CPC your home, you may indicate your desire on the friendship pad or reach out to Pastor Sheldon directly. We offer a New Member Class three times throughout the year, or as needed. After attending a class, you will be invited to meet with the Session, our governing board of Elders. Finally, you will be introduced to the congregation during worship and received as a new member in one of three ways: profession of faith/baptism, reaffirmation of faith, or letter of transfer.
If you have any questions about what it means to be a member at CPC or in a PC(USA) congregation, Pastor Sheldon is always happy to talk. Sundays9:30 am - Sunday School for all ages
