Outreach Ministry The responsibilities and projects of the Outreach Ministry are; feeding the homeless through Echo and Haven of Rest, the Alternative Gift Market, the building of the Presbyterian Habitat House, and the collection of food, clothing and school supplies for various agencies. Plans for 1999 include continued support of the programs and offerings we are presently assisting and to become more involved in local and world missions, not only financially but with thoughtful prayer, our time and talents. Outreach Benevolence
Global Outreach Children of the Ukraine - Rev. Robert Gamble Mullins in Brazil Delivering Groceries to Seniors Program Our Outreach Ministry is involved in many projects. One intergenerational project involves the Church Confirmand class, their Mentors, the Second Harvest Food Bank and a group of Senior Citizens. Our Confirmands and Mentors deliver groceries to a group of Senior Citizens on the third Saturday of the month. Many times these Seniors are beginning to run short of groceries by the third or fourth week of the month since they are on a fixed income and prices for rent, food, prescription medicine, utilities continues to grow. This has been an excellent project for the Confirmands, one they whole-heartedly embrace and enjoy. The older youth of the Church also help out when we run short of volunteers.
Directions to America's Second Harvest Food Bank In The Carpenter's Footsteps, Inc. Provides services for churches and communities who need construction projects built or repaired. Opportunities are offered for people of all ages to share their faith, offer their services, perform manual labor and create friendships of many people in a global setting. Throughout the past three decades, more than 500 volunteers, with little or no experience, constructed church buildings, schools, daycare and youth centers, a sewing center, playgrounds and even dug a well and established a water system for a village that had no running water. Volunteers from many different professions and cultural backgrounds who represent several denominations were the genesis for a Christian service organization known as In The Carpenter's Footsteps, Inc. approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (C)(3) organization. Through the years, these volunteers worked side by side with church members in villages where the projects were done, sharing fellowship, worship and communicating the reality of God's love for all people. Please visit the site to see their work.
