Board of Deacons/Congregational Care The Board of Deacons was the result of a long study by our Session, prayer, information seeking and sharing with the congregation by a special task force and subsequent vote by the congregation to implement. The mission of the
Board of Deacons could be summed up in three words: At the heart of the Deacon mission is that of care for persons. That care will include communicating with our membership in order to inform of church activities and opportunities, celebrate joys, know of needs and concerns and hear ideas and suggestions. The Deacons will also be a contact group which visits those in special need in our ever growing congregation. Specific examples are shut-ins, sick and hospitalized. Above all the Deacons are about com passion: showing the love of Jesus Christ wherever and whenever possible. The Board of Deacons is comprised of the 13 members listed below, including a Youth Deacon:
"The devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their numbers those who were being saved"(Acts 2:42-47)
