With God’s grace and guidance the
Christian Education Ministry Team
strives to promote God’s kingdom, as
part of Christ Presbyterian Church,
by:
- Developing spiritual
leaders.
- Creating opportunities to
grow in our faith.
- Providing CE opportunities
to our members from “cradle to
grave.”
- Respecting every
individual’s current place along
their spiritual journey
As such, this ministry is
responsible for all matters that
relate to education in the church.
It is responsible for programming
and activities including the
following:
Challenging and enriching
Sunday Schools for ALL AGES.
A Children's Ministry which
encompasses:
- Provisions for a loving and
stimulating nursery
- Weekly Children's' Worship
(preK3 – 1st grade)
- Weekly biblical study and
activities class (Kid’s Club)
- Weekly choir practice
- Summer Vacation Bible Camp
- Christmas worship service
leadership
A Youth Ministry which
encompasses:
- Annual confirmation (offered
to all youth who have completed
7th grade)
- Weekly Presbyterian Youth
Fellowship (PYF)
- Weekly bible study
- Participation in the
Montreat Youth Conference
- Worship service leadership
twice a year
- Summer mission trip
An Adult Ministry which
encompasses:
- Several Sunday options for
adult education
- Weekly stretch class
- Monthly educational and
fellowship activities for
seniors
- Small groups
- Small group/ book study, 1st Fridays of the month,
the book for the May 2 meeting is "Jonathan Livingston
Seagull" - contact Priscilla Zachary at 668-4876 or Beth
House for details.
- Sylvia Beall is leading a small group on Tuesdays
following the stretch class. For the month of May she
will be leading a class on the book "The Will of God" by
Leslie Weatherhead.
- Curtis Watkins will be leading small group in the
study of Rick Warren's book, "A Purpose Driven Life"
during the summer. Details have not been worked out, but
contact the church office or Curtis 668-1797 if you are
interested.
